UniProtKB - Q949G3 (PDR1_NICPL)
Protein
Pleiotropic drug resistance protein 1
Gene
PDR1
Organism
Nicotiana plumbaginifolia (Leadwort-leaved tobacco) (Tex-Mex tobacco)
Status
Functioni
Excretes secondary metabolites such as terpenes. Involved in both constitutive and jasmonic acid-dependent induced defense. Confers some resistance to sclareol and B.cinerea.

Inductioni
By terpenes such as sclareolide and sclareol, and by some phytohormones such as jasmonic acid (JA) and ethylene. Strongly induced by compatible pathogens such as the fungus B.cinerea, and the bacteria P.syringae pv tabaci, as well as by non pathogenic bacteria such as P.fluorescens, and P.marginalis pv marginalis. Weak induction by incompatible pathogens such as P.syringae pv syringae (at protein level).3 Publications
