Required for the sorting of endocytic ubiquitinated cargos into multivesicular bodies (MVBs) Mediates the association to the ESCRT-0 complex. May control nuclear division through the microtubule cytoskeleton. Ref.6

Subunit structure

Component of the endosomal sorting required for transport complex I (ESCRT-I), composed of ELC, VPS28 and VPS37. Interacts with VPS28 and VPS37. Binds ubiquitin in vitro. Ref.6
