General annotation (Comments)

Function

Chemotactic for resting T-lymphocytes, and eosinophils. Has lower chemotactic activity for neutrophils but none for monocytes and activated lymphocytes. Binds to CCR3 By similarity.

Subcellular location

Secreted.

Tissue specificity

Highest expression in jejunum and spleen. Lower levels found in liver and lung. No expression detected in kidney, thymus, brain or testis. Ref.2

Induction

By interleukin-4 and allergen challenge with A.fumigatus. Ref.2

Sequence similarities

Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.
