Tissue specificity

In bronchial mucosa, mainly expressed in ciliated and basal epithelial cells and weakly in alveolar cells (at protein level). Tends to be down-regulated in lung cancers, immortalized bronchial epithelial cell lines and precancerous lesions. Ref.5
