Tissue specificityi

In embryos, both cell layers of the blastocyst: the trophectoderm (TE) and the inner cell mass (ICM) show expression. Expressed in adult brain, heart skeletal muscle, lung, kidney and gonads. Liver, small intestine, and spleen also show expression but at lower levels. In the testis, expressed from pachytene spermatocytes to round spermatids, but not in spermatogonia. In addition to the germ lineage, also expressed in Sertoli cells of the testis. In the ovary, only granulosa cells of the follicles show expression. In the brain, expressed in the piriform cortex, hippocampus, habenula and in the granula cell layer in the cerebellum.2 Publications
