Functioni

Catalyzes the transfer of the sulfoquinovose moiety from UDP-sulfoquinovose to diacylglycerol during sulfolipid biosynthesis. Sulfolipid contributes to maintaining a negatively charged lipid-water interface, a requirement for proper function of photosynthetic membranes. Sulfolipid may also function as a substitute of anionic phospholipids under phosphate-limited growth conditions.1 Publication
