Functioni

Regulatory subunit of the cyclin-dependent kinase pair (CDK9/cyclin-T1) complex, also called positive transcription elongation factor B (P-TEFb), which is proposed to facilitate the transition from abortive to productive elongation by phosphorylating the CTD (carboxy-terminal domain) of the large subunit of RNA polymerase II (RNA Pol II).By similarity

Interactioni

Subunit structurei

Cyclin-T1 is the predominant cyclin that associates with CDK9, thereby forming a heterodimer called P-TEFb. P-TEFb forms a complex with AFF4/AF5Q31. Component of a complex which is at least composed of HTATSF1/Tat-SF1, P-TEFb complex, RNA pol II, SUPT5H, and NCL/nucleolin. Interacts with MDFIC. Interacts with BRD4, probably to target chromatin binding (By similarity). Binds to BIV Tat, however Tat binds TAR RNA in a Cyc-T1-independent mode.By similarity1 Publication

90%UniRef90 is built by clustering UniRef100 sequences that have at least 90% sequence identity to, and 80% overlap with, the longest sequence (a.k.a seed sequence).
50%UniRef50 is built by clustering UniRef90 seed sequences that have at least 50% sequence identity to, and 80% overlap with, the longest sequence in the cluster.
