General annotation (Comments)

Function

Displays RNA-directed RNA polymerase and deubiquitinating activities. RNA-dependent RNA polymerase is responsible for replication and transcription of the viral RNA genome. The deubiquitinating activity cleaves both ubiquitinated and ISGylated products and may therefore regulate ubiquitin and ISG15 dependent innate immunity By similarity.

Catalytic activity

Thiol-dependent hydrolysis of ester, thioester, amide, peptide and isopeptide bonds formed by the C-terminal Gly of ubiquitin (a 76-residue protein attached to proteins as an intracellular targeting signal).

Nucleoside triphosphate + RNA(n) = diphosphate + RNA(n+1).
