General annotation (Comments)

Function

Involved in the innate immune MAP kinase signaling cascade (MEKK1, MKK4/MKK5 and MPK3/MPK6) downstream of bacterial flagellin receptor FLS2. May be involved in the cold and salinity stress-mediated MAP kinase signaling cascade (MEKK1, MEK1/MKK2 and MPK4/MPK6). Activates downstream MKK2, MKK4 and MKK5. Ref.7 Ref.9

Catalytic activity

ATP + a protein = ADP + a phosphoprotein.

Subunit structure

Interacts with MEK1, MMK2 and MPK4. May form a ternary complex with MEK1 or MMK2 and MPK4. Ref.6

Induction

By touch, cold and salinity stress. Ref.1 Ref.5

Sequence similarities

Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. STE Ser/Thr protein kinase family. MAP kinase kinase kinase subfamily.

Contains 1 protein kinase domain.

Sequence caution

The sequence AAA99196.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Frameshift at several positions.

The sequence AAA99196.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Miscellaneous discrepancy. Sequencing errors.
