General annotation (Comments)

Function

Component of the NatC N-terminal acetyltransferase, which catalyzes acetylation of the N-terminus Met of L-A virus Gag protein. MAK10 has a role in the propagation of L-A and M viruses, perhaps in the viral assembly. It is apparently directly needed for optimum respiration. Ref.3

Subunit structure

Component of the N-terminal acetyltransferase C (NatC) complex, which is composed of MAK3, MAK10 and MAK31.

Subcellular location

Cytoplasm.

Induction

Glucose-repressed.

Miscellaneous

Present with 1970 molecules/cell in log phase SD medium. Ref.5

Sequence similarities

Belongs to the MAK10 family.
