Functioni

Alpha-conotoxins act on postsynaptic membranes, they bind to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR) and thus inhibit them. This toxin inhibits alpha-3-beta-2 (IC50=33 nM), alpha-3-beta-4 (IC50=97 nM), and alpha-7 (IC50=103 nM) nAChRs. It also shows a very weak inhibition of alpha-9-alpha-10 nAChR.1 Publication
