Component of the mitochondrial RNase MRP (MtMRP), a ribonucleoprotein endoribonuclease involved in the cleaving RNA transcripts to generate primers for DNA replication in mitochondria. Absent in the nucleus-localized RNase MRP (NuMRP). Causes growth arrest when highly overexpressed. Ref.3
