Protein

Phospholipid:diacylglycerol acyltransferase

Gene

LRO1

Organism
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (strain ATCC 204508 / S288c) (Baker's yeast)
Status
Reviewed-Annotation score: Annotation score: 4 out of 5-Experimental evidence at protein leveli

Functioni

Triacylglycerol formation by an acyl-CoA independent pathway. The enzyme specifically transfers acyl groups from the sn-2 position of a phospholipid to diacylglycerol, thus forming an sn-1-lysophospholipid.

Catalytic activityi

Phospholipid + 1,2-diacyl-sn-glycerol = lysophospholipid + triacylglycerol.By similarity
