General annotation (Comments)

Function

O-methyltransferase that catalyzes the methylation of the C-9 carboxy group of tetracenomycin E (TCM E) to yield TCM A2. Catalyzes as well the following side reactions: methylation of 8-O-methyl-TCM D3 to 9-carboxymethyl-8-O-methyl-TCM D3; and of TCM B3 to 9-carboxymethyl-TCM B3.

Pathway

Antibiotic biosynthesis; tetracenomycin C biosynthesis.

Sequence caution

The sequence AAA67510.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation.
