| Function | UDPGT is of major importance in the conjugation and subsequent elimination of potentially toxic xenobiotics and endogenous compounds. Acts on small phenolic agents such as 2-naphtol and 4-methylumbelliferone as well as bulky phenolic compounds like 2-hydroxy- and 4-hydroxybiphenyl. In contrast to 2B16 it is active toward octylgallate. |
