General annotation (Comments)
| Function | Required for a novel path of interorganelle communication between mitochondria, peroxisomes and the nucleus, thereby maintaining a functional metabolic interaction between the tricarboxylic acid and glyoxylate cycles. Transcription factor that regulates CIT2 gene expression. Binds to two identical sites oriented as inverted repeats 28 bp apart in a regulatory upstream activation sequence element (UASR) in the CIT2 promoter. The core binding site is 5'-GGTCAC-3'. |
| Subunit structure | Binds DNA as a heterodimer with RTG3. |
| Subcellular location | Nucleus Probable. |
| Miscellaneous | Present with 2190 molecules/cell in log phase SD medium. |
| Sequence similarities | Contains 1 bHLH (basic helix-loop-helix) domain. |
