General annotation (Comments)

Function

Serine/threonine protein kinase involved in conjugation and sporulation. It is thought that it phosphorylates the byr1 protein kinase which itself phosphorylate the spk1 kinase.

Catalytic activity

ATP + a protein = ADP + a phosphoprotein.

Sequence similarities

Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. STE Ser/Thr protein kinase family. MAP kinase kinase kinase subfamily.

Contains 1 protein kinase domain.

Contains 1 SAM (sterile alpha motif) domain.
