Protein

Cytochrome P450 2C13, male-specific

Gene

Cyp2c13

Organism
Rattus norvegicus (Rat)
Status
Reviewed-Annotation score: Annotation score: 5 out of 5-Experimental evidence at protein leveli

Functioni

Cytochromes P450 are a group of heme-thiolate monooxygenases. In liver microsomes, this enzyme is involved in an NADPH-dependent electron transport pathway. It oxidizes a variety of structurally unrelated compounds, including steroids, fatty acids, and xenobiotics.

Miscellaneous

The G- form of this protein is thought to be unexpressed.

Catalytic activityi

RH + [reduced NADPH--hemoprotein reductase] + O2 = ROH + [oxidized NADPH--hemoprotein reductase] + H2O.
