Prevent the establishment of cellular antiviral state by blocking the interferon-alpha/beta (IFN-alpha/beta). Interacts with host STAT1 protein in the nucleus, blocking it's phosphorylation by IFN-alpha/beta. Also blocks antiviral state induced by Toll-like receptor 3/TLR3 binding to dsRNA.
