Protein
Deoxynucleotide monophosphate kinase
Gene
1
Organism
Enterobacteria phage T4 (Bacteriophage T4)
Status
Reviewed - Annotation score: 3 out of 5 - Experimental evidence at protein leveli

Functioni

Phosphorylates dGMP, dTMP and 5-hydroxymethyl-dCMP while excluding dCMP and dAMP. The phosphorylation of 5-hydroxymethyl-dCMP represents the first step in the replacement of cytosine by hydroxymethylcytosine in new viral DNA genomes.

Catalytic activityi

ATP + deoxynucleoside phosphate = ADP + deoxynucleoside diphosphate.

GO - Molecular functioni
