Functioni

Transports viral genome to neighboring plant cells directly through plasmosdesmata, without any budding. The movement protein allows efficient cell to cell propagation, by bypassing the host cell wall barrier. Forms a ribonucleoprotein complex with viral RNA. Binds microtubules and modulates microtubule stability. Can bind double-stranded DNA (PubMed:17965274).2 Publications
