General annotation (Comments)
| Function | Self-assembles to form an icosahedral capsid with a T=16 symmetry and a diameter of 140 nm. The capsid is composed of pentamers and hexamers of BcLF1, which are linked together by heterotrimers called triplex. These triplex are formed by a single molecule of triplex protein BORF1 and two copies of triplex protein BDLF1, which bridge major capsid protein BcLF1 multimers together. Triplexes occupy the local treefold positions between hexons and between hexamers and pentamers. Ref.3 |
| Subunit structure | Homohexamer or homopentamer. Interacts with BVRF1, and triplex proteins BDLF1 and BORF1 By similarity. |
| Subcellular location | Virion. Host nucleus By similarity Ref.2. |
| Sequence similarities | Belongs to the herpesviridae major capsid protein family. |
