General annotation (Comments)
| Function | UDPGTs are of major importance in the conjugation and subsequent elimination of potentially toxic xenobiotics and endogenous compounds. This isozyme has glucuronidating capacity with androgens, such as testosterone, dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and 3-alpha-diol. It is also active on catecholoestrogens including 1,3,5,10-oestratriene-3,4-diol-17-one. |
| Catalytic activity | UDP-glucuronate + acceptor = UDP + acceptor beta-D-glucuronoside. |
| Subcellular location | Microsome membrane; Single-pass membrane protein Potential. Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Single-pass membrane protein Potential. |
| Sequence similarities | Belongs to the UDP-glycosyltransferase family. |
