Mutagenesis2401S → A: Causes minor alterations in the interaction of with beta-lactams, reduces slightly the relative hydrolytic activity against cefotaxime and the susceptibility to inhibition by clavulanate. Ref.1
Mutagenesis2771R → N: Confers lower levels of resistance to cefotaxime, ceftriaxone and aztreonam while the levels of resistance to penicillins and penicillin-inhibitor combinations are similar. Slightly less susceptible to inhibition by clavulanate and tazobactam. Cause a 3-fold reduction in the relative rate of hydrolysis of cefotaxime. Ref.2
