General annotation (Comments)

Function

TAFs are components of the transcription factor IID (TFIID) complex that are essential for mediating regulation of RNA polymerase transcription. Regulates the genes involved in ubiquitin-dependent proteolysis during the progression of M-phase of mitosis. Ref.3

Subunit structure

Component of the TFIID and SAGA complexes. TFIID is composed of TATA binding protein (TBP) and a number of TBP-associated factors (TAFs) whose MWs range from 25-150 kDa By similarity. Interacts with gcn5. Interacts (via C-terminal WD repeat-containing region) with taf6.

Subcellular location

Nucleus By similarity.

Sequence similarities

Belongs to the WD repeat TAF5 family.

Contains 1 LisH domain.

Contains 6 WD repeats.
