Peptidoglycan-anchor
| Definition | Surface protein of a Gram-positive bacteria anchored to the cell wall envelope by a transpeptidation mechanism which requires a C-terminal sorting signal with a conserved LPXTG motif. An amide bond is created between the carboxyl-group of the conserved threonine and the amino-group of peptidoglycan cross-bridges. |
