Keyword Microtubular outwards viral transport

rdf/xml obo
DefinitionViral protein that allows the active transport of viral components and assembled, complete particles along microtubules toward the cell periphery during virus egress. This transport, which usually involves interaction with motor proteins like kinesin or polymerization/depolymerization reactions as a driving force, is mostly used by viruses that replicate their genome near or in the nucleus and allows newly assembled viral progeny to reach the plasma membrane. Herpes simplex virus for example is transported anterogradely along the axon.
