Keyword Inhibition of host NF-kappa-B by virus

UniProtKB (82) rdf/xml obo
DefinitionViral protein involved in the inhibition of host NF-kappa-B. This protein is a pleiotropic transcription factor which is present in almost all cell types and is involved in many biological processes such as inflammation, immunity, differentiation, cell growth, tumorigenesis and apoptosis. Many viruses have developed strategies to inhibit the NF-kappa-B pathway in order to evade host immunity and inhibit production of proinflammatory cytokines.
