Inhibition of host JAK1 by virus
| Definition | Viral protein involved in the evasion of the type I, II and III interferon pathways by inhibiting the JAK1 protein. Upon viral infection, JAK1 is activated by the interferon-alpha/beta, -gamma, and -lambda signal transduction pathways. Several viral proteins can directly interact with JAK1 to prevent its ability to phosphorylate the downstream partners STAT1 or STAT2. |
