Keyword Inhibition of host JAK1 by virus

UniProtKB (24) rdf/xml obo
DefinitionViral protein involved in the evasion of the type I, II and III interferon pathways by inhibiting the JAK1 protein. Upon viral infection, JAK1 is activated by the interferon-alpha/beta, -gamma, and -lambda signal transduction pathways. Several viral proteins can directly interact with JAK1 to prevent its ability to phosphorylate the downstream partners STAT1 or STAT2.
