Triplet repeat expansion
| Definition | Protein encoded by a gene which has a triplet repeat expansion, i.e. the increase of triplet (trinucleotide) repeats within the gene sequence. The length of such repeats is frequently polymorphic, and there is often a correlation between repeat length and disease severity. |
